Keep Circulating the Tapes: At least some of the games from the series have gone out of print for various reasons such as licensing issues. Though in the case of the ones previously released on Steam, their Snark Bait status with users leaving ironic or potentially offensive reviews may have probably led Mattel to have them pulled off the platform for reasons of propriety.
Name's the Same: The Current Line's Grace seems to be different from ‘’So In Style’’ Grace.
- Ryan has the same name and Allen and Midge's oldest son.
Playing Against Type: Barbie as The Scrooge in A Barbie Christmas Carol.
- Averted in the case of... Barbie playing Marley.
The Merch: The brand has also been licensed to various companies producing merchandise themed after Barbie, such as dresses, shoes, fashion accessories, electronics and the like. While most of them are (obviously) marketed towards children, there has also been items made for women as well given the Periphery Demographic especially to those who grew up playing the dolls.
The Other Darrin: The long time voice of Barbie, Kelly Sheridan was replaced as of A Fashion Fairytale by Diana Kaarina, due to a revamp of the series. Fan reactions have been less than enthusiastic.
What Could Have Been: Several from the movies:
- A chapter book based on Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper, which had illustrations based on the toys, indicated that Preminger would have had a toy. The same is true for Nick and Nack.
- Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus has a trove of deleted scenes, which imply the movie was much more of a farce in early development.
